Media 0 for listing BS 546 (Plug Socket/Outlet)

Description

My attempt at replicating the old British Standard plug socket, also known as the BS 546. The BS 546 plug and socket, also known as the Type G or 5A plug and socket, was commonly used in the United Kingdom and several other countries in the past. However, it has been largely phased out in favor of the BS 1363 plug and socket, which is the standard plug type used in the UK today.

Countries that have historically used the BS 546 plug and socket include:

  • United Kingdom (formerly)
  • India
  • Pakistan
  • Sri Lanka
  • Bangladesh
  • South Africa
  • Kenya
  • Uganda
  • Tanzania
  • Nigeria
  • Ghana
  • Zimbabwe

It’s important to note that the usage of the BS 546 plug and socket may vary within these countries. In many cases, it has been replaced by more modern plug types that comply with international standards for safety and compatibility.
