Drinking water before you eat can help promote weight loss because you feel fuller quicker and therefore, will eat less. There was a 12-week study where dieters who drank half a liter of water before meals lost 44% more weight than those who didn't.
2. Burn more calories
Drinking water increases the number of calories you burn. Your metabolism increases by up to 30% for about an hour and a half after you drink a half a liter (17 ounces) of water. So drinking 2 liters of water a day will help you burn about an extra 100 calories per day. Also, drink cold water because your body will spend more energy heating it to body temperature.
3. Look and FEEL better
It helps flush out toxins from your skin, it helps your digestion, and it enables you to think clearer, and it reduces the chance of headaches.
Tip to help you drink more water:
- Drink a glass of water last thing before going to bed, and then again first thing in the morning. During the day, keep a bottle of water with you.
- If you are making coffee or tea, use the brewing time to drink a glass of water.
