What motivates you?

Motivation, like everything in life, is actually a learned skill.


So don't worry if you feel like sometimes you lack motivation. 

It's something you can work on, and improve. 


Some key things to know about motivation:

  • Only you can motivate yourself - as much as you would like, having someone encourage you, will only help short term. Long term motivation requires internal buy-in from you. 
  • Think about the why. Visualizing and really understanding why you want to achieve something, is actually the key to achieving it. You need to go deep. Ask why repeatedly, to dig to the core of it, this will be your motivating force. (click the button below and we will help you do this)
  • Think also about what's holding you back. Then you can come up with a plan to overcome these obstacles. 
  • Rewards work. When you train a puppy, the only way to do so is by using rewards. Reward positive behavior causes a dog to want to repeat that behavior. Chastising it when it does something wrong, actually doesn't work. Use the same technique on yourself. Reward positive action and your brain will want to repeat it!
