This Japanese calendar gets its beautiful look from a hand-stenciling printmaking process. The piece was produced in the style of Keisuke Serizawa, a popular Japanese textile designer known for developing katazome, a fabric dyeing technique that incorporates a starch mixture to preserve a blank, undyed portion of the textile’s pattern. The sharp lines and lush color used in this calendar make it a great example of post-war Japanese design. Place this Marzipan Mummy find in a light-colored frame and hang it alone or with complementary prints.

Unframed. This vintage product is in fair, “as-found” condition.
