A strikingly modern image, the Be Wise Don’t Play With Matches Poster was originally created in 1937 by Vera Block for the New York City Federal Art Project—part of the Works Progress Administration. Warning of the dangers of playing with matches, this decidedly patriotic image depicts the face of a boy with an injured eye, reminding us that we can never be too careful.

Print comes unframed. All prints are made with the finest quality Digital giclée printing using up to 12 color archival inks. Printed on museum quality 300gsm Rag paper. No optical brighteners are used, which will extend the life of your print.
