When the U.S. Navy contacted Charles and Ray Eames to create a cheap leg splint to be used during World War II, the result was this beautiful and innovative molded plywood design. (Splints were previously made of metal.) Created in 1943, the splint was a direct precursor to their winning experiments with molded plywood furniture designs, and arguably even pointed the way towards Mid-Century Modernism. Both The Metropolitan Museum of Art and MoMA have this splint in their permanent collections. And now, so can you.

Good Vintage Condition. In the original packaging.
