Having drawn since childhood, Keith Haring (1958–1990) came to prize the creation of what amounted to his own pictorial language, using and reusing an infinitely malleable series of icons in arrangements meant to not just express, but to also communicate with the viewer. Masterful in its use of positive and negative space, work such as this was often created in sumi ink on paper in mere moments, and included renderings that became more overtly political after Haring’s diagnosis with AIDS in 1988.

This framed art print is a page from a catalogue published by Gallery Lucio Amelio in Naples, Italy in 1983. Edition of 300. Continuous tone print. Framed. White 4-ply mat with white painted wood frame.
