An artful display of balanced yet dissimilar volumes, the Maia Bench by JH2 OneTreeHome has a wonderful texture story to tell: On one end of the bench is a thick, solid piece of wood. On the other, there’s a slender right-angled square of 3/8-inch-thick metal. A solid two-inch-thick slab of wood rests atop these wildly mismatched legs, creating a handsome, comfortable bench that’s perfect for the living room, bedroom or hallway.

The wood is Nanciton, Nanciton Claro, Cedro Macho and Cedro Gris. The leg is blackened steel. All woods are FSC-certified, tropical hard woods, salvaged from Hurricane Felix in Nicaragua. Satin finish. Conversion varnish.
