Designed by Poul Henningsen in 1958, this iconic PH Artichoke pendant was created for the Langelinie Pavillonen restaurant in Copenhagen and still hangs there today. The elegant painted steel fixture consists of 12 rows of 72 precisely positioned leaves that facilitate an inviting, glare-free glow. Part of the permanent collections of MoMA and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the pendant is a classic example of brilliant Danish design.

Requires hardwiring. Uses one 200 W A23 CL medium lightbulb (not included).

Copenhagen-born designer Poul Henningsen practiced architecture before carving his niche in lighting. A lifelong collaboration began in 1924 when he worked with Louis Poulsen on an exhibition in Paris, earning a gold medal for his PH Lamp. Henningsen’s globally acclaimed, mathematical designs toy with shadows and shape to create sculptural, glare-free illumination.
