1860s Frozen Charlottes V

With an eye for rough-hewn charm and nostalgic finds Dan Treiber sifts through the attics basements and spare rooms of his childhood home—also known as dAN's Parents' House— to put the right objects in the hands of the right people. Frozen Charlotte is the name used to describe a specific form of china doll made from the mid 1800s to roughly 1920. The name is inspired by the American folk ballad Fair Charlotte which tells of a young girl who refused to wrap up warmly to go on a sleigh ride and froze to death during the journey.
