Alabaster Die Pencil Antelope
The ancients of Egypt and Greece used alabaster in carving alabastra small bottles for holding prized oils and perfumes. The designers of the Mid-Century Western World turned that concept on its head by using the white stone to transform a giant six-sided die into a holder for less precious but ever useful pencils. The alabaster used in this piece displays gray and brown marbling."
