Coyote Skull Gold
It can't help but draw the eye. And paired with a plant, a beautiful swath of ivy or the severe stems of any carnivorous bit of vegetation, it creates a living still life. This spectacular curiosity was created by artist and Beetle & Flor founder Christine Facella. Starting with a real coyote skull Facella models a replica out of raw porcelain and finishes the teeth with 14-karat gold luster creating a piece for those of us seeking the unusual—or those who know that death can be a celebration of life."
After drawing an endless quantity of turtle skulls while working as a science illustrator for the Museum of Natural History in New York, Christine Facella was inspired to create porcelain skulls—and thus began Beetle & Flor.
