Cultural Triangles

Handmade by the Wounaan weavers of the Darién rainforest in Panama the Hösig Di basket takes influence from traditional geometric patterns of pre-Columbian art and materials and inspiration from the forest. The artists sew palm fibers into the coils of the Naguala palm lending the basket its structure. Fibers are dyed using nature's elementsseeds fruits flowers and the like. The entire process is scrupulous and construction can range from several months to years. But the resulting effect of the immense detail and piercing patterns are immeasurable.
