This amazing piece of art is a vintage 1960s fused glass plate from the renowned Higgins Glass studio. Founded in 1948 by Michael and Frances Higgins, the studio blazed the trail when it came to rediscovering and refining the ancient art of glass fusing. A more labor-intensive choice than glass blowing, glass fusing is a complex process by which a design is fused between pieces, creating layers of texture and complexity. This plate is an excellent example of this craftsmanship, and features an etched signature. This vintage product is in mint, original condition.Country of Origin: US
