Murphy: CMYK LP Collection

You might not be able to really judge an album by its cover, but you sure can survey the cultural importance of LP design in this collection of framed LPs presented by New Documents. Providing the perfect canvas for artists and photographers the album cover became a forum for innovation in design where the consumer was deemed the final critic."A 3-piece collection of LP designs in the CMYK color space by Charles Murphy: Live! The Doc Severinsen Sextet" (1966) "Big Band Bossa Nova" (1962) and "My Musical Coloring Book" (1963). Murphy studied under Bauhaus master Josef Albers before accepting an invitation from Enoch Light to partner with Command Records as design director for Light's breakthrough recording series. In his career with Command Murphy supervised such great designers as S. Neil Fujita George Giusti and Josef Albers among others. Framed in black record frames and ready to hang. This gently used vintage product is in good condition. Shows some signs of age. Some minor surface wear. Since this item is being sold as a piece of graphic design playability of the LP is not guaranteed."Country of Origin: US
