Red Revisited Plate Large
Iconoclastic design collective droog prides itself on its conceptual yet contextual creative strategy boldly mixing materials and wisecracks with its clever creations. Bas Warmoeskerken based his Red Revisited series off of 14th century pottery from his Netherlands hometown Bergen op Zoom which is known for its earthenware production. He made a polystyrene replica of each piece like this plate which has mold seams that refer to both old and new manufacturing processes. Unlike its original the hefty looking dish is actually light as a feather."
