Artist Jose Agatep co-founded The Slug And The Squirrel with friends Chris Sotz and Matthew Stonebegan after moving to Philadelphia. Agatep's one-of-a-kind antique glass terrariums are inspired by natural scenes as well as magical places. Each handmade piece starts with an antique glass vesselâ€”a bottle an oil lamp chimney even a magnifying glassâ€”and features an organic architecture of stone earth or sand finished by moss and plants native to the Philadelphia area. The resulting terrarium a piece of history and a living sculpture is both humble and extraordinary."Includes terrarium with live plants. Approximately 2.5â€ in diameter. Plant Care: Indirect sunlight from a nearby window is best. Avoid any direct sunlight. Artificial light such as that from a desk lamp is acceptable if provided for an extended period of time (8 hrs.). Handle with care. Terrarium must acclimate to its new surroundings and drastic changes outside the glass or strong movement may affect the established ecosystem.
