Description

Light, frame and capture your assets in Unreal Engine.

Lookdev Toolkit brings HDRI lighting, camera controls, reference tools and screenshot capture into one compact, dockable editor panel. Explore lighting, build a set of shots and capture images with fewer trips through Unreal’s editor panels.

Includes 63 HDRIs, 72 Scale References, a speaker Quick Start scene and an example Level Sequence. Use it for asset and material reviews, product visualisation, Sequencer animation and portfolio renders. Start in the included speaker scene or add a lookdev setup to your own level.

Explore lighting
  • Cycle through HDRIs and adjust their rotation, intensity and exposure from the panel.

  • Use your own imported HDRIs, with folder search and keyword filters in the HDRI actor’s Details.

  • Switch to grayscale to assess contrast and value separation.

Find and preserve your shots
  • Create a Cine Camera from the current viewport composition.

  • Drop camera copies as you explore, then cycle through your saved shots.

  • Adjust focal length and aperture, and set tracking focus or look-at targets from the panel.

Capture the result
  • Capture the active editor viewport at a chosen output resolution.

  • Use Deferred rendering for quick iterations or optional Path Tracing for still images.

  • Choose landscape, square, portrait and vertical presets, or enter custom dimensions.

Check scale, lighting and materials
  • Choose from 72 measured Scale References with dimension labels, bounds, height and footprint guides, or create your own reference presets.

  • Use the Lighting Calibrator's neutral and reflective references when judging exposure and lighting.

  • Compare project materials under consistent lighting with the Material Preview Grid.

Work with familiar Unreal tools

Built entirely in Blueprints, Lookdev Toolkit uses regular Cine Camera Actors. Adjust settings through actor Details, animate lighting and camera properties in Sequencer, and render your sequences with Movie Render Queue.
